My name is Yousef Alaa. I am in my second year of medicine at Sohag National University in Egypt, with four more years to the MBBCh, then an internship, then residency, and most likely a fellowship after that. Which puts me roughly ten years away from being a plastic surgeon.
I decided not to wait those years to start. What I am building here — the notes, the explainers, the mailing list — compounds the whole way, instead of starting from zero the day I qualify.
I write in Arabic first because that is where the real gap is. An Egyptian medical student can find excellent English material and thin, badly translated Arabic material. What I publish is what I am studying myself, checked against the source before it goes up.
What I publish here is coursework: anatomy, physiology, pharmacology. I do not diagnose, I do not recommend treatment, and I do not comment on anyone’s case. Personal questions belong with a treating doctor — that line is clear to me.
